Steps

Before you start
  • Chill your serving glasses or bowls in the freezer for 10 minutes if you want them extra cold
  • Wash and pat dry all berries before assembling
  • Have all ingredients ready and measured before you begin layering
  1. Sweeten the yogurt

    • In a small bowl, stir together the Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, and honey until smooth and well combined.
    • Taste and add a touch more honey if you prefer it sweeter.
    • This flavored yogurt will be the creamy base for your parfaits.

Ready when: Yogurt is smooth and evenly sweetened

Tip: If your yogurt is very cold from the fridge, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes so the flavors blend more readily.

  2. Layer the first yogurt base

    • Divide half of the sweetened yogurt (about 6 tablespoons or 90 g total, 3 tbsp per glass) between your two chilled serving glasses or bowls, spooning it into the bottom as an even layer.

Ready when: Bottom of each glass has a yogurt layer

  3. Add first granola layer

    • Sprinkle half of the granola (about 3 tablespoons or 42.5 g total, 1.5 tbsp per glass) over the yogurt layer in each glass.
    • Press down gently so it stays in place.

Ready when: Granola is distributed and pressed into yogurt

Tip: Reserve any larger granola clusters for the top layer so they stay crisp and visible.

  4. Layer mixed fresh berries

    • Distribute half of each type of berry (about 6 tablespoons total mixed berries, 3 tbsp per glass) over the granola layer.
    • Mix them loosely so you get a bit of each variety in every bite.

Ready when: Berries are evenly distributed over granola

Tip: Handle raspberries gently to avoid crushing them; place them just before serving for maximum texture.

  5. Add remaining yogurt

    • Spoon the remaining sweetened yogurt (about 3 tablespoons or 45 g per glass) over the berry layer in each glass, spreading it gently to create an even middle layer.

Ready when: Yogurt covers the berries evenly

  6. Top with remaining granola and seeds

    • Finish each parfait by sprinkling the remaining granola (about 1.5 tbsp per glass) over the top yogurt layer.
    • If using, sprinkle flax or chia seeds (about ½ tbsp per glass) over the granola for added nutrition and texture.
    • Top with the remaining fresh berries, arranging them attractively on the surface.

Ready when: Parfait is fully assembled with visible layers and berries on top

Tip: Build the parfait just before serving so the granola stays crunchy and doesn't absorb moisture from the yogurt.

Tips
  • For a parfait bar, set out all components separately and let guests assemble their own with their favorite combinations and proportions.
  • Layer the parfait at the last moment before eating to maintain the contrast between creamy yogurt and crunchy granola; if made in advance, they will soften and blend together.
  • Use the ripest, most flavorful berries you can find—their natural sweetness and tartness add complexity that makes the vanilla yogurt taste better.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon or cardamom to the honey-yogurt mixture for a warm spice note that pairs beautifully with berries.
Storage & reheating

Store each component separately. Yogurt: covered, in the fridge for up to 5 days. Granola: in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Berries: in the fridge in a perforated container for 3–5 days. Assemble just before eating to keep granola crisp. Once assembled, eat within 30 minutes for best texture contrast.

Substitutions
  • plain Greek yogurt, full-fat or 2% → Plain regular yogurt or creamy kefir. Use ¼ cup more (1.75 cups or 420 g) if using regular yogurt, as it is less thick. The parfait will be slightly more liquid but equally delicious.
  • raw or regular honey → Maple syrup, agave nectar, or simple syrup. Use the same amount for maple syrup or agave; reduce simple syrup to 1 tbsp if using it, as it's less flavorful.
  • granola (store-bought or homemade) → Muesli, crushed cereal (like granola clusters), or toasted nuts and seeds mixed with dried fruit. Use the same amount. Muesli tends to soften faster; add it right before serving.
  • fresh raspberries → Blackberries, diced mango, or sliced peaches. Use 0.33 cup (50 g) of any substitute. Softer fruits like raspberries and blackberries are most traditional but any fresh berry or fruit works.
