About 30-Minute
Thirty minutes lets you do a bit more than a quick fix. You can brown chicken, simmer a sauce, roast vegetables on a sheet pan or cook a pot of pasta with all the trimmings. Many of these meals feel like a proper sit-down dinner.
Compared with our 15-Minute recipes, these have a little more cooking and a little more flavor. They are not always as simple as Easy or Beginner recipes, but they stay practical for a normal weeknight.
Questions folks ask
Is 30 minutes total time or cook time?
We aim for total time, from first chop to serving. Some cooks may need a few extra minutes.
What are good 30-minute dinners?
Skillet chicken, tacos, stir-fries, pasta dishes, sheet pan meals and soups all fit well.
Can I make these ahead?
Many reheat well. Store leftovers in airtight containers in the fridge and reheat until hot.
Kitchen tips
- Preheat the oven before you start chopping.
- Do the longest task first, then prep while it cooks.
- Use a sheet pan to cook the main and the vegetables together.
- Cut meat into smaller pieces so it cooks through faster.
- Clean as you go so cleanup is short.
